HAVANA TIMES – When a people suffer, it shows in everything: their character, their behavior toward others, their appearance, and even their way of viewing and appreciating life.
For a creative soul, art is a part of their essence. It becomes most powerful and intelligent when it reflects reality.
These young artists, through their photography, express the Cuban reality they have lived with, capturing it with a deep sense of suffering and a critical lens. One striking photograph is titled “Optical Resilience,” a profoundly conceptual piece.
The exhibition showcases a collection of body-focused photography, with some pieces having received awards or honorable mentions in the VIII Body Photography Salon “Herman Puig.”
You can experience this exhibition at the Mariano Rodríguez Gallery, located at the end of the promenade in the Pan-American Village. It’s part of the Havana Biennial and will remain open until February 2025. If you’re nearby, don’t miss the chance to see it! There’s still plenty of time to immerse yourself in this thoughtful and compelling display.
Art, after all, has the power to help us endure and thrive.
